Currently, there is no high-speed bullet train from Kunming to Dali or Kunming to Lijiang. You can only take sleeper trains and it takes 7 hours travel from Kunming to Dali.
The government is planning to build a high-speed bullet train from Kunming to Shangri La in Deqen County. Construction is in progress. This high-speed bullet trains will stop at the cities of Dali and Lijiang.
Currently, the railway is only from Kunming and ends in the ancient town of Lijiang.
