It will really depend on your purpose in visiting Japan.
The Japanese Embassy in Manila will also look at your itinerary so putting expensive items on it is not a good idea if you don’t have that much money to spend.
Generally, an average of 7,000 to 10,000 pesos per day in Japan is safe enough to be able to get a visa, however, it is a bad idea to put an immediate big amount of money just to show that you have a good bank balance.
Why? Because it won’t help increase your average annual or monthly balance and the embassy can verify your information anytime with your bank branch. Just be careful on your bank deposits.

Hmm you gave them a reason to do further check your application. But it doesn’t mean denied ka na.
Hi sir ask ko lang po if okay lang to submit a joint bank account for married couple?
Thanks!
Yes!
Sir Mark,
Ask ko lang po… what if my hubby is an OFW in Singapore. Once a month lang po remittance nya, medyo na-uubos po namin by end of the month. Ok lang ba to for the bank certificate?
Secondly po, on the ITR, paano po bo for a housewife na wala’ng steady income? We are solely dependent po on my hubby’s remittance. Kung ba’ga…. zero income po ako. Paano po ba?
Me and my 2 daughters po kasi, we are planning to go to Tokyo this April or May for a 5 day tour (DIY lang po). My hubby will be flying-off from Singapore and meet us in Narita airport so we can tour together.
I hope you could enlighten us on what to do.
Salamat po.

Let him give you the following:
– guarantee letter
– marriage cert and birth cert of your kid
– his bank certificate in Philippines/ITR/OFW ID/OEC/Job Contract certified by POLO
Salamat po sa quick reply Sir Mark.
Pwede pala ganyan?
I mean… wala po sa Japan nagwo-work hubby ko, nasa Singapore po sya.
Salamat again.

Yes he is in Singapore, take not that POLO contract and OEC are valid documents issued by the Philippine government thus recognized by the embassy.
I see… ok po. 🙂
Maraming salamat po Sir Mark.

My dad will sponsor me and my mom on our Japan trip (di siya kasama). He has 2 bank accounts (Savings at Rural Bank of our town) and BDO Checking(For checks) Account(Codepositor Mom ko). The savings has 300k and Checking has 400k. Should we provide both bank certificate or just one? Di ba masama na malaki masyado yung balance kasi daw suspicious din daw yan. BTW we have a small family business. Thank you po! 🙂
Good afternoon po. Ask ko lang po magkano po ang kaylangang amount na naka indicate sa bank certificate sa Japan bank account para makapagbigay ng visa sa pamangkin ko?
ieentertain po ba nila if ung bank is a COOP bank? thanks
