Egypt has reopened!
Egypt Tourist Visa application, policies, and requirements are subject to change. If you wish to apply for a visa, you should always do more research about your current case or situation.
Updated June 8, 2022
Please note that the Embassy does not recommend applicants to submit purchased airline tickets/confirmed airline booking and confirmed hotel reservations prior to their visa application.
Philippine passport holders are not eligible for visas on arrival and are required to get a tourist visa prior to arrival in Egpyt. Egyptian tourist visas are valid from 30 to 180 days upon request. You can apply at the Arab Republic of Egypt Embassy or Consulate in your current country.

Hi there, Mark! Thanks for this post.
But how about passport holding visas like UK/Japan/South Korea? Do they have consideration for that? Whether they’ll process the visa earlier or will exempt for visa application? Or like Taiwan’s ROC/E-visa? Thank you!
OECD and EU countries can go to Egypt and get visa on arrival. Egypt does not have electronic visas at this time.

Hi ElyRose,
They might be doing some background check on your case since you are an overseas worker. If you submitted a strong proof that you are coming back, it shouldn’t take any longer.
Hi,
Can I course through my application with a travel agent and have them submit the application on my behalf?
Thank you
Hi Anne, sure you can ask help from your travel agent but I can’t recommend any good agency for Egypt Visa. 🙂
Hi Mark,
Thank you so much for accommodating my question. One last thing, I am no longer employed. My last employment was 5 years ago. But I have a friend in Egypt whom I will be visiting at the same time will travel to places of attractions. Do I need to present a letter of explanation for my unemployment status and will it be helpful for my application if my friend would send me a letter of invitation?
God bless!
Hi Anne, in that case, you will no longer fall under tourist visa category. Do not hesitate to ask help from the embassy, they are willing to help you with your case.
Hi Mark Joseph, I’m planning to visit Egypt early next year. However, I don’t have oecd visa yet and my previous passport stamps were only around nearby countries (Cambodia, Vietnam, SG, HK, Thailand). Does it mean that I should visit oecd let’s say Japan or Korea to strengthen the probability of approving my Egypt visa? and I do hope you will share an Egypt itinerary in the future. All I searched was getting around in Egypt via tourist agencies. I prefer to travel there in diy. Thanks!
Hi Greta,
I’ve my Vietnamese friend went there without OECD visa in his passport. As long as there will be no red flags on your application, you should be able to get one without problems. Just go to the embassy and submit documents. Pay later when they grant you a visa. 🙂

Hi Marjorie, we won’t be able to give you advice about your case. Kindly go to the nearest Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Egypt for them to check your situation since your intention doesn’t fall under tourist visa category.
