The newly expanded Godofredo Ramos Airport in Caticlan is now ready to accept bigger aircraft such as Airbus 320 and Boeing 737.
Prior to expansion, only small propeller engine aircraft can land at Caticlan due to a shorter runway compared to Kalibo International Airport, which has the longer runway that can accommodate narrow-bodied planes. Kalibo is 2 hours drive from Caticlan Jetty Port.
San Miguel corporation expanded the runway in order to accommodate narrow-bodied aircraft.
Philippine Airlines recently announces that it will utilize their A320s to Caticlan starting November this year. Cebu Pacific will also use Airbus 320s to Caticlan. Currently, there are no announcements of totally moving all Boracay bound flights from Kalibo International Airport to Caticlan. This will also help decongest Kalibo’s Airport and will add more options to passengers.
More and more tourist can now go to Boracay without having to travel and pay for a two hours ride from Kalibo. Now, tourist can just hop into the jetty port and be in Boracay Island in less than 30 minutes.
Prices might also change as more seats will be available on this route.

Congratulations! Could you please have a faster service to and fro from the runway and back. It cuts to the scheduling of the aircrafts and have caused major delays. We got better service at the jetty port.
