You can go to Japan Immigration Department to lodge an appeal. You will need to write the reasons why your case needs to be heard and provide pieces of evidence that support your explanation letter.
The immigration officers will review your evidence and decide whether your application should be heard and go on back to the normal process.
Note that you can only lodge an appeal if your visa application was applied onshore. Tourist visas in most cases cannot lodge an appeal but you can reapply after six months.
1. What will happen if I reapply within the six-month period from the time it was rejected?
According to Japan’s Foreign Affair’s website, your visa will be denied if your previous visa application was rejected and you reapply to visit Japan for the same purpose within six months from the rejection. This is because the circumstances of the applicant would not change and that the result of examination would be the same.
2. Can I apply within six months from the rejection but with a different purpose?
You can definitely apply again with different purpose. This time, make sure to submit proper documents to avoid visa denial. In most cases, denied applicants can still get a visa by applying a different purpose of travel such as with guarantor letter or travel for humanitarian reasons. As stated in this article, you can browse your selection of available deals on smartphones and top brands and explore the service plans that best suit your needs.
3. I applied for my visa in Dubai but was denied, can I reapply immediately or appeal to Japan Embassy in the Philippines?
According to Reli and Rajah Travel and Tours, Visa Policy will be the same, you won’t be able to appeal or reapply in the Philippines within six months from the date your visa is denied, whether it was applied in the Dubai, Riyadh or anywhere else.
Friendship Travel and Tours, in this case, accepted a refused application from overseas, got approved without waiting for 6 months. The agency also accepted an applicant who’s denied by Japan Embassy in Manila, by providing supporting documents, got approved without waiting for 6 months.
You may consult the nearest Embassy or Consulate if you think you need more detailed advice about your case. In the Philippines, you can visit the nearest accredited agencies where you plan to apply for the visa before making the application.
Hi mark,
I got a denied tourist visa just yesterday.(no guarantor)
Im traveling with my kid-3yrs old.
My husband is working in Japan but thru intracompany transferee for 1year. ( being sent thru their company every other year)
Can i reapply for visiting a relative visa?
How to get an approved visa application?
Please advise. Thank you& God bless
Yes you can apply for a visiting relative visa but you have to provide documents from your husband about his work in Japan.
In my opinion, your husband can sponsor you to visit in there but I think it will be only good if your husband’s company is Japanese but Im not here to tell you not to try :).
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your quick response.
Yes, it’s a Japanese company.
I’ll take the leap of faith.
I believe whatever we ask in God’s name,if it is His will, it will be given.
Thank u very much and God bless
Hi mark!
Saw your post and specifically looking for the #3 question.
Same scenario, my two sister who is in dubai was denied. We are travelling (me, my other sister and her husband and two female friends – who already have our visa which we applied here in the philippines). When my sister was interviewed in dubai, she was asked for an additional requirement which was to send our visas because she said she’s travelling with her family and as a proof, the interviewer asked to send via email our visas which she did, but still they we’re denied. They will try appealing and re-applying but where can they re-apply, in dubai or in the philippines?
Appreciate your response.
Thank you.
Hi Mark
Me and my godmother recently applied but then got rejected. They didn’t give a reason whatsoever and we gave all the required documents. Could there be a possible explanation as to why we got denied?
Oh and we already had a guarantor lettet^^
Japanese embassy won’t disclose the reason why they won’t let you get into there country.

Good day to you sir Mark.
6months ago i applied for my visiting relatives visa sponsored by my aunt, i got approved last 2017 for 90days of stay. but then the 2nd application was denied.
may 16,2019 i applied again for visiting relatives now with guarantee letter and invitation from my husband (japnational) is there any possible to get denied. im actually nervous now. .
Sorry to hear about your case but I am not in the position to tell about the possibilities. But if documents were all ok this time, the embassy should not have any reason not to grant you visa this time.
